Viscosity is the direct measurement of how efficiently blood flows through the vessels. The study found those who consumed high-pH water reduced viscosity by 6.3 percent compared to 3.36 percent for those who consumed standard purified water. This reflected a 93% improvement in blood viscosity when drinking alkaline water. Alkaline water may not only improve performance and recovery of those consuming it, but could benefit those with high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
